Pseudocolus fusiformis

Pseudocolus fusiformis
This small attractive stinkhorn was photographed in the Overland Park Arboretum south of Kansas City. I took a few "eggs" home and placed them in moist soil. In a couple days they did "hatch" but they were not as photogenic as the mushrooms growing naturally.

Of interest is the fact that the mushroom may possess either three or four "tentacles" which are usually fused at the top, unlike some other similar stinkhorns.
